Capcom has announced its highest-ever software unit sales for the first half of a fiscal year, marking a significant achievement in the company's 47-year history. The strong performance was primarily propelled by digital sales, which accounted for a staggering 92.4% of the total revenue, with 57.1% originating from PC and 35.3% from consoles.
While Capcom released several critically acclaimed titles in 2026, including Resident Evil Requiem, Pragmata, and Onimusha: Way of the Sword, the bulk of its success in the current fiscal year comes from its established catalog. Older games such as Monster Hunter World, Resident Evil 2 Remake, and Resident Evil 7: BioHazard represent the top three best-selling titles.
Monster Hunter World leads the pack with 30.83 million units sold, followed by Resident Evil 2 Remake at 20.38 million units and Resident Evil 7: BioHazard at 18.87 million units. These figures reflect substantial increases from their initial releases, with Resident Evil 2 Remake recently surpassing Resident Evil 5 as the best-selling game in its franchise.
The full top ten list for Capcom's best-selling games in the first half of its 2027 fiscal year is as follows:
- Monster Hunter World - 30.83m (+1.17m)
- Resident Evil 2 - 20.38m (+2.06m)
- Resident Evil 7 - 18.87m (+1.47m)
- Resident Evil 4 Remake - 17.5m (+3.54m)
- Resident Evil Village - 16.27m (+1.33m)
- Resident Evil 3 - 14.93m (+1.56m)
- Devil May Cry 5 - 14.78m (+1.83m)
- Resident Evil Requiem - 8.51m (+1.59m)
- Pragmata - 2.73m
- Onimusha: Way of the Sword - 1.78m
Notably absent from this list is the latest Monster Hunter entry, Monster Hunter Wilds, despite a permanent price reduction and new DLC bundles following player complaints since its February 2025 launch. Pragmata has also shown strong performance, with Capcom indicating a high likelihood of a sequel. Onimusha: Way of the Sword achieved one million copies sold on its first day.
This strong financial performance extends to Capcom's multimedia endeavors, with the recent Resident Evil movie directed by Zach Cregger becoming the most profitable in the series' history, and the Street Fighter film debuting at number one at the box office. The success of these recent titles and film adaptations suggests a robust year for Capcom across multiple fronts.
