Capcom is celebrating the Resident Evil franchise's 30th anniversary with a special exhibition in Shibuya, Japan, which will include life-sized statues of fan-favorite villains Lady Dimitrescu and Albert Wesker. The exhibition is scheduled to run at the Shibuya BEAM Gallery from October 30 to December 24.
Attendees can expect to see detailed, full-scale recreations of iconic elements from the horror series. Among these will be the meticulously crafted statues of Wesker and Lady Dimitrescu, whose concept art has been revealed. The art depicts Lady Dimitrescu in a plush chair and Albert Wesker standing with his signature sunglasses and trench coat.
These statues are slated to be displayed within the "Evidence of Horror" section of the exhibition. Albert Wesker will reportedly be positioned in a zone dedicated to "parasites and biological threats," while Lady Dimitrescu will occupy a space focused on "fungi and hallucinations." While Lady Dimitrescu is noted to be approximately 290 centimeters tall, her seated pose may affect the final sculpture's height.
The announcement has sparked a lively online reaction, with many fans humorously discussing hypothetical attempts to steal the statues, drawing parallels to heist movies. The internet's response has also extended to a previously announced life-sized statue of Leon Kennedy, which will also be featured at the exhibition.
