Konami has announced that a free demo for the upcoming metroidvania title Castlevania: Belmont's Curse will be available starting October 1. Progress made in this demo will carry over to the full game, which is set to launch on October 15.
The demo will feature the game's opening chapter, allowing players to join Rose and Trevor Belmont as they arrive in a burning Paris before being separated. Players will guide Rose, utilizing her sword and magical tarot cards to confront classic Castlevania enemies such as zombies and skeletons. The game also features a mechanic that allows players to turn defeated bosses into allies.
This early access portion of Castlevania: Belmont's Curse will require between 3GB and 6GB of storage, with the Nintendo Switch version being the smallest and the PlayStation 5 version the largest. Performance varies by platform, with the Nintendo Switch running at 30fps, while PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC versions will achieve 60fps. The game is being developed by Evil Empire Studio and Motion Twin, with Evil Empire having previously contributed to Castlevania with Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania and most recently developing The Rogue Prince of Persia. Castlevania: Belmont's Curse is not a roguelite, despite the developers' prior work.
Konami also revealed the voice cast for the game last month, confirming that Graham McTavish will reprise his role as Dracula, a voice familiar to fans of the Netflix Castlevania series.
