Konami is marking the 40th anniversary of the Castlevania series with a slate of promotions, including the free distribution of the original 1986 game on the App Store and Google Play. This offer is available until October 24, 2026.
In parallel with the anniversary giveaway, significant discounts are being offered on various Castlevania collections across digital storefronts. On the PlayStation Store, the Castlevania Anniversary Collection is available at an 80 percent discount until October 7. The Dominus Collection is discounted by 50 percent, while the Advance Collection and the Requiem: Symphony of the Night & Rondo of Blood bundle are each 70 percent off.
Similar deals are running on Steam from September 24 to October 1. The Anniversary Collection is also 80 percent off, the Dominus Collection is 50 percent off, and the Advance Collection is 70 percent off. Furthermore, the Lords of Shadow titles, including the Ultimate Edition, Lords of Shadow 2, its Revelations DLC, and Mirror of Fate HD, are all available at an 80 percent discount.
The celebration also extends to the upcoming release of Castlevania: Belmont's Curse, the latest mainline entry in the series. This new title follows Rose, daughter of Trevor Belmont from Castlevania 3, as she battles Dracula's forces in Paris in 1499. The game is set to launch on October 15 for Nintendo Switch, PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. A demo for Belmont's Curse, featuring the entirety of the first chapter with progress transferable to the full game, was released on October 1 for Switch, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. The game is targeted to run at 60 frames per second on all platforms except the Nintendo Switch, which will operate at 30 frames per second.
Fans can also look forward to a 40th Anniversary orchestral concert scheduled for spring 2027 in London, Tokyo, and Los Angeles. Additionally, the soundtrack for Castlevania: Black & Red is now accessible on major streaming platforms. The original Castlevania, which introduced players to vampire hunter Simon Belmont and his quest to defeat Dracula, first released on the NES in 1986.
