CD Projekt Red Addresses Witcher 3 Remaster Performance Issues on PS5

CD Projekt Red has stated that it intends to address performance issues affecting the PlayStation 5 version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Remastered. Players on PS5 have reported a range of problems, including dropped frames, screen tearing, audio glitches, and environmental flickering. These issues appear to be inconsistent, with some players experiencing them frequently while others encounter few problems.

While the PC version of the remaster has seen some performance hiccups, particularly related to Ray Tracing and Nvidia Hairworks, which led to a surge in negative Steam reviews, the situation on PS5 has prompted a promise of further action from the developer. CD Projekt Red released two patches shortly after the remaster's launch to address graphical and save file issues, as well as audio bugs.

In response to player feedback, the company outlined plans via X to tackle several problems, prioritizing performance improvements for the PS5 version. The upcoming patch is also expected to include additional visual adjustments, fixes for 'My Rewards' and Twitch Drops, and console voiceover audio corrections. Ukrainian localization will be extended to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S players in other regions. Furthermore, CD Projekt Red aims to enhance mod support across all platforms through integration with Mod.io.

This upcoming patch is intended to bring the PS5 version of The Witcher 3 Remastered more in line with its PC counterpart. The developer has not provided a specific release date for the patch, but indicates that these fixes will arrive sooner than the post-launch support seen for Cyberpunk 2077.

The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt – Remastered was released to prepare players for the upcoming DLC, 'Songs of the Past,' which is slated for 2027. Following this expansion, the next main installment in the series, The Witcher 4, is scheduled for 2028 and will feature Ciri as the protagonist.
