CD Projekt Red's secretive projects, codenamed Sirius and Hadar, remain in development, according to an investor call where vice president of investor relations Karolina Gnaś provided an update. While neither project is nearing completion, the studio offered insights into their current status and development direction.
Sirius, a multiplayer game set within The Witcher universe, is currently in its pre-production phase. The development team recently underwent some restructuring, which CD Projekt Red stated was to "meet the current needs of the project." Gnaś explained that the team is focused on "testing different solutions and ideas" for the multiplayer-centric experience, acknowledging its distinctiveness from the studio's other projects. This project, initially spearheaded by The Molasses Flood following CD Projekt Red's acquisition of the studio in 2021, experienced a pause and subsequent reboot a couple of years later. The plan for The Molasses Flood to operate as an independent studio also concluded in 2025.
Little is known about Hadar, an entirely new intellectual property separate from The Witcher or Cyberpunk franchises. The game is intended to offer an "emotional, open world experience." Despite being in development since 2021, Hadar is still in its concept phase, a status it has maintained for several years. However, Gnaś indicated that development may begin to accelerate, with the team currently comprising over 30 developers and plans to expand to 50 by the end of the year. The focus for the Hadar team is on exploring various approaches and prototyping gameplay elements.
CD Projekt Red has a significant slate of upcoming titles, including the next installment in The Witcher series, Cyberpunk 2, an expansion and remaster for The Witcher 3, and a remake of the original Witcher game. The updates on Sirius and Hadar suggest these projects will likely see release much further down the line, with no concrete timelines provided.
