CD Projekt Red, the studio behind The Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077, is actively expanding the team dedicated to its unannounced 'Project Hadar.' The development group has grown to over 30 members, with plans to further increase the team to approximately 50 developers by the end of the year, according to Karolina Gnas, CD Projekt Red's vice president of investor relations. Gnas shared this information during the company's latest earnings call.

At present, the Project Hadar team is focused on exploring various concepts and prototyping gameplay elements. Gnas emphasized that the project remains in its conceptual stage. This news comes as CD Projekt Red also confirmed that the remake of The Witcher 1 has been put on hold to allocate more resources towards The Witcher 4, which is slated for a 2028 release. Additionally, the studio is working on a new expansion for The Witcher 3, titled 'Songs of the Past,' which is expected a decade after the original game's release.

The exact nature of Project Hadar remains speculative. Given that The Witcher series consists of third-person fantasy RPGs and Cyberpunk 2077 is a first-person RPG shooter, Hadar is presumed to be an RPG of some description. CD Projekt Red's development pipeline is robust, including the upcoming remastered version of The Witcher 3, the aforementioned expansion 'Songs of the Past,' The Witcher 4, a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, the paused Witcher 1 remake, and Project Hadar.
