CD Projekt Red's upcoming multiplayer Witcher game, codenamed Project Sirius, has experienced another round of layoffs. Kotaku has learned that nine individuals have been let go from the development team, with an additional nine employees being reassigned to other projects within the studio. This shift is part of a broader change in development strategy for the title.

Project Sirius, developed by CDPR-acquired studio The Molasses Flood, was first revealed in 2022. Details about the project remain scarce, though it has been described as a single-player and cooperative multiplayer Witcher game. The project underwent a reboot in 2023, which resulted in the layoff of 29 developers at that time. Following these changes, the project had reportedly been progressing steadily in recent months, with CD Projekt Red hiring acclaimed Destiny 2 writer Kwan Perng as lead writer for the project earlier this year.
