Charlie Cox, fresh from Dublin, appeared at New York Comic Con to discuss the upcoming third season of Daredevil: Born Again. During a panel, Cox revealed that this season will be the final one for the series and urged fans to rally behind the show.
Speaking after the panel, Cox expressed his thoughts on the return of the original Defenders team. "I think there needed to be a full circle with that story," Cox told IGN. "There needed to be some kind of closure with it." The Defenders initially came together in the Netflix Marvel era, with individual series preceding a crossover season in 2017. The subsequent cancellations of those shows left the door open for a potential reunion, which Cox indicated Marvel was eager to facilitate.
"And Marvel were willing and able to bring them back and have a lot of fun with it," Cox said of the quartet. "It was great. We're such good friends. We have a great time together. There's some really interesting, fun dynamics that the fans seem to love, so it was great."
The actor also made a lighthearted comment about co-star Mike Colter, who previously shared spoilers on social media. "We had to ban him from getting sides on set!" Cox joked.
When asked about his future as Daredevil beyond Born Again Season 3, Cox remained coy. "Don't know, man. I don't know," he stated. He then playfully suggested, "Don't worry about Kevin [Feige]. Get the Save Daredevil campaign on the horn. Get them motivated. That engine, that won't stop until there's some resolution. That's my true superpower -- is the Save Daredevil campaign!"
