Charlie Cox Confirms Involvement in Unannounced Sega Game

Charlie Cox, widely recognized for his portrayal of Daredevil in Marvel's Netflix series and as the voice of Gustav in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, has confirmed he has finished recording for an unannounced Sega game. Speaking at New York Comic-Con 2026, Cox shared that he undertook voice work for a title that does not yet have a name and has not been released.

Cox described the experience as enjoyable but challenging, noting it is a distinct discipline from on-screen acting. He recounted an anecdote from his first day of recording, where the development team expressed surprise at his English accent, having apparently anticipated an American voice for the character. This led to the actor needing to perform approximately 40 hours of dialogue in an accent he had not prepared for.

Earlier this year, Cox had indicated that Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 had opened new professional avenues for him and that he was scheduled for further game recordings. It is presumed the Sega project he discussed is the one he was referring to.

Speculation about the specific Sega title is ongoing. Sega's upcoming major release, Stranger than Heaven, slated for January 2027, has already announced cameo appearances from Snoop Dogg and the late Tupac Shakur. However, the advanced stage of development for Stranger than Heaven makes it less likely for Cox to be undertaking such extensive dialogue recording now.

Another possibility could be a role in Total War: Warhammer 40K, given Sega's apparent trend of enlisting notable actors; Stranger Things star David Harbour is confirmed to appear in that game. Similarly, an appearance in the anticipated Alien Isolation 2 is conceivable, though like Stranger than Heaven, these projects are already publicly known.

Meanwhile, the third season of Daredevil: Born Again is expected in 2027 and is reportedly set to conclude the Daredevil series. The actor's continued involvement in video game projects suggests a growing presence in the interactive entertainment space.
