Charlie Cox Recorded 40 Hours of Dialogue for Unannounced Sega Game

Actor Charlie Cox, known for his role as Daredevil, has revealed that he recently completed voice work for an upcoming Sega-published video game. Cox shared the information at New York Comic-Con, stating that he recorded approximately 40 hours of dialogue for the project, which currently lacks a title.

Cox expressed that the recording process was a significant undertaking, describing game voice acting as a "whole different job." He also humorously recalled the initial reaction from the game's development team upon discovering he was English, not American, as they had apparently hoped. This unexpected detail meant Cox had to perform his extensive lines without the prepared American accent.

While Cox did not disclose the name of the game, the sheer volume of recorded dialogue suggests a narrative-heavy title. Potential Sega franchises that fit this description include "Persona" or "Like a Dragon," though Cox might also be involved in an entirely new project.

This is not Cox's first foray into video game voice acting. He recently lent his voice to Gustav in "Clair Obscur: Expedition 33," a game that received critical acclaim. Although Cox was nominated for Best Performance at The Game Awards for his role, he noted that the motion-capture performance for the character was handled by Maxence Cazola. Cox mentioned his intention to play "Clair Obscur: Expedition 33" after acquiring a console for it.

In related news, Deborah Ann Woll, another actor from "Daredevil," is set to appear in "God of War Laufey" on PS5 early next year.
