Chris Hansen, the former host of "To Catch a Predator," has revealed that he declined an early screening of "Primetime," the upcoming A24 film where he is portrayed by actor Robert Pattinson. Hansen explained that his refusal stemmed from being asked to sign what he described as a "very restrictive agreement" by A24 lawyers.

In an interview with Fox News, Hansen stated that the agreement required him to sign away his rights to his name, image, and brand, as well as any potential legal rights stemming from the movie. "I couldn’t sign that, so they didn’t show me the film," Hansen claimed. He added that his attorneys had reviewed the document before he went to the A24 offices, but he ultimately decided against signing it.

Hansen also noted that the film appears to be a dramatized and fictionalized version of events, based on the trailer. He mentioned that other individuals had seen the movie without being subjected to such an NDA. However, The Hollywood Reporter's sources indicated that Hansen was presented with a standard NDA, a common requirement for all preview audiences of unreleased A24 films, primarily to prevent spoilers and protect the studio's intellectual property.

"Primetime," directed by Lance Oppenheimer, is scheduled to open in theaters on September 25, 2026.
