Raw Power Games, the developer behind the upcoming medieval open-world action/strategy sandbox Chronicles: Medieval, has issued a stark warning on social media that the studio may cease operations before the game's Early Access release due to a critical lack of funding.
In a message shared on X, the studio detailed its precarious situation, stating, "Due to circumstances outside our control, the necessary funding behind Raw Power Games is no longer in place. Without it we can't keep building Chronicles: Medieval, and right now the studio is at real risk of closing." The developers emphasized that they wanted to share this news directly and plainly with their audience.
The team expressed their frustration at the timing, noting how close they are to launching the Early Access version. "Early Access is within reach," the message continued. "The world we've been building for years is finally starting to feel alive, and we have so much we've been thrilled to show you." Raw Power Games highlighted the dedication of its staff, many of whom have reportedly worked tirelessly, often exceeding expectations.
Chronicles: Medieval gained attention with its announcement trailer, narrated by Tom Hardy, which garnered over 2 million views on IGN's YouTube channel. The game was revealed at Summer Game Fest 2025, and IGN has previously previewed it, noting its impressive scale and the ability to switch between commander view and a third-person action mode. Despite its potential, earlier previews indicated that the game still felt in an early stage of development.
Raw Power Games urged fans to support the game by wishlisting it on Steam and discussing it, stating that such actions are more important now than ever. "We don't know yet how this ends," the developers concluded. "But in the spirit of our game we're not going down without a fight!" They thanked their community for their belief in the studio and the game, expressing a hope that players will eventually experience the world they have created.
