Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Departs Xbox Game Pass This October

Xbox Game Pass subscribers will see several games depart the service on October 15, including the highly decorated RPG Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. The announcement comes as part of the monthly update for Microsoft's subscription service, which also adds new titles such as Neon Abyss 2 and Battlefield 6.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, developed by Sandfall Interactive, garnered significant critical acclaim throughout 2025, sweeping numerous Game of the Year awards. The RPG was also a record-breaking success on Game Pass, becoming the most-played title on the service in its release year. Players can expect to complete the main story in approximately 30 hours, with side quests potentially extending playtime to nearly 70 hours. The game features a narrative centered on a civilization facing extinction and employs flashy turn-based combat.

Players who have not yet experienced Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 have until October 15 to play it on Cloud, Console, and PC via Game Pass. Those who have started the game are also encouraged to finish it before its removal. Additionally, the free DLC, Verso's Drafts, which includes a photo mode, new outfits, and challenging encounters, is available for those looking to revisit the game or for whom the impending departure may prompt a replay. Developers have suggested that knowing the story's conclusion can enhance the narrative upon subsequent playthroughs.

Other notable titles leaving Game Pass on October 15 include A Plague Tale: Requiem, Donut County, and Pacific Drive, all of which will be available on Cloud, Console, and PC. Nova Roma (Game Preview) will be removed from PC, while Superball and The Casting of Frank Stone will also be removed from all platforms. Evil West and Crime Scene Cleaner will also be departing the service.
