The latest entry in James Gunn and Peter Safran's DC Universe, Clayface, is set to arrive in theaters on October 23rd. The film centers on actor Matt Hagen, portrayed by Tom Rhys Harries, a rising Hollywood star whose career is jeopardized after a violent encounter leaves him disfigured. His quest for a cure leads him to an experimental nanocel treatment from Dr. Caitlyn Corr (Naomi Ackie), which ultimately transforms him into the shapeshifting villain Clayface.
With the DC Universe still in its formative stages, audiences may be anticipating connective tissue or future plot teases, a common practice in superhero filmmaking, particularly from Marvel. However, the DC Universe's recent theatrical releases have diverged from this trend. 2025's Superman featured a brief, comedic post-credits scene, while Supergirl omitted one entirely.
Continuing this pattern, Clayface will not include a post-credits scene. Viewers are therefore free to leave the theater once the main film concludes. The absence of such a scene means that the introduction of the DC Universe's Batman, who may one day confront Clayface, is still some time away.
