Cliff Richard Was Unaware His Music Was Featured in GTA 6

Veteran musician Cliff Richard, 86, had no prior knowledge that his 1976 hit "Devil Woman" would be featured in Rockstar Games' highly anticipated title, Grand Theft Auto 6. Richard only learned of the inclusion after his nephew's sons informed him about it, and he initially misunderstood the nature of the project.

Speaking to The Times, Richard reportedly believed Grand Theft Auto 6 was a television show rather than a video game. "The show is a game show, isn’t it, really? One of the biggest on TV?" he is quoted as asking. He was eventually made aware that GTA 6 is a game, though he admitted he did not know what that entailed.

Despite the initial confusion, Richard expressed enthusiasm about his music reaching a new generation through the game. "People will no longer just say, ‘Oh, Cliff Richard is from the past,’" he stated. "Because I am, but that past is what makes everything what it is today."

The inclusion of "Devil Woman" in Grand Theft Auto 6 has reportedly led to a significant surge in Spotify streams for the song. The game's official score, composed by Justice, is set to be released on December 11 and will be available for streaming and on physical media. Grand Theft Auto 6 is slated for release on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It will be a digital-only release, with game codes available for purchase in boxes at retail locations, foregoing a physical disc.

The game's file size has also been noted as gargantuan, hinting at the scale of the upcoming title.
