Cody Rhodes May Have Leaked His Involvement in MCU's X-Men Reboot

WWE wrestler and actor Cody Rhodes might have inadvertently revealed his participation in Marvel Studios' forthcoming X-Men reboot. During a promotional interview for his role as Guile in the new Street Fighter movie, Rhodes made a comment that sounded like "I'm in X-Men."

His Street Fighter co-star, Andrew Schulz, reacted with surprise, asking "Wait, you are?" and later remarking that he thought Rhodes had just made an announcement. Rhodes reportedly maintained his composure and continued the interview.

This is not the first time Rhodes has been linked to a potential X-Men role. On Schulz's Flagrant podcast, Schulz inquired about the power-stealing mutant Rogue, asking Rhodes "What franchise is Rogue in?" Rhodes is said to have avoided the question, attempting to change the subject. This exchange has fueled speculation that Rhodes may be keeping a secret X-Men connection.

Fans are now actively discussing which X-Men character Rhodes could portray. Given his physique, possibilities include prominent characters like Colossus or Cable, or potentially a less obvious choice. An official announcement from Marvel may be forthcoming if Rhodes has indeed secured a role.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is slated to reintroduce the X-Men in 2028. Sadie Sink has already appeared as Jean Grey, and other confirmed cast members include Inde Navarrette as Rogue, Maya Boyd as Storm, Christopher Abbot as Professor X, Kit Connor as Cyclops, and Samara Weaving as Emma Frost. Adam Driver is set to play the villain Mr. Sinister. The MCU's current focus is on "Avengers: Doomsday," with "VisionQuest" recently premiering on Disney+.
