Compulsion Games, the studio recently separated from Xbox, has announced it is actively seeking opportunities for co-development or support roles with other companies in the games and entertainment industry. The independent studio aims to secure new projects to maintain its operations while its own upcoming titles are in development.

In a statement shared on LinkedIn, Compulsion Games expressed its openness to partnering with studios, inviting them to "leverage the talent and creativity of the award-winning team behind South of Midnight." The studio highlighted its enthusiasm for contributing to the creation of "memorable experiences that engage and entertain players around the world."

This move follows a period of significant restructuring for Xbox Game Studios, which saw several studios, including Compulsion, become independent. Unlike fellow former Xbox studios Undead Labs and Ninja Theory, Compulsion Games and Double Fine Productions did not immediately find new ownership. This situation likely necessitates securing short-term funding to keep their teams employed, especially after the recent releases of games like 'South of Midnight' and 'We Happy Few'.

Securing co-development or support work is considered a practical step for Compulsion to ensure continuity for its staff during this transitional phase. The studio, recognized for its strengths in narrative design and distinctive art styles, may find collaborations that align with these specialties particularly suitable. The industry will be watching to see which projects Compulsion Games joins as it navigates its newly independent path.
