Control Resonant is set to receive a New Game++ mode in October and a photo mode in November, developer Remedy Entertainment announced. The game also launched with a hotfix addressing combat complaints.
While players can currently continue playing after completing the main story to finish side quests or begin a New Game+ run, future updates will expand these options. The upcoming New Game++ mode will allow players to start consecutive New Game+ runs without erasing progress, enabling theoretically endless playthroughs. Remedy noted that this could amount to over 665 runs, which could take approximately a year to complete.
The action RPG's photo mode has been in development for some time, with Remedy consulting virtual photographers to enhance its capabilities. The studio prioritized ensuring the game was in its best possible state at launch, leading to the delayed release of the photo mode. Future updates are also slated to include new cosmetic items.
In a review of Control Resonant, it was noted that the game's open world successfully expands upon the atmosphere of the original title, the studio's prior game Control. The city's details include redacted files, nonsensical billboards, and physics-based environmental interactions, such as Dylan using gravity anomalies to traverse walls and ceilings during combat.
