Control Resonant Day-One Patch Addresses Combat Difficulty

Remedy Entertainment has released a day-one patch for Control Resonant aimed at refining the game's combat balance. Following early access periods, player feedback indicated that enemies could feel overly resilient, particularly in the game's initial hours. The patch seeks to address this by making enemies less "spongy" while aiming to maintain a satisfactory level of challenge.

The primary adjustments in the hotfix focus on enemy statistics and player damage scaling. The base health and Falter (stun) threshold for most enemies, including the Dancer and Deserter bosses, have been reduced. Concurrently, maximum Aberrant Strength and Ability Strength have been increased. This increase is designed to scale progressively, meaning players will deal more damage as they acquire more upgrades.

Beyond combat adjustments, the patch also modifies the game's economy and player progression systems. The cost to respec Dylan's stats has been permanently lowered, and the availability of "Reset Items" has been increased at all vendors. The first Resonant boss encounter now awards two "Reset Items" instead of one. Remedy also reiterated that the game's Assist Mode offers extensive options for players to customize their difficulty experience.

Minor UI updates have also been implemented in the English version of the game. Explanations for "Build Power" have been clarified to display "Damage and Falter X%" instead of "Multiplier X%." Similarly, the description for "Aberrant Strength" has been expanded to better reflect its calculation, now stating “From unlocked Combat Abilities, Aberrant forms/upgrades, Talents, and Core Upgrades.” instead of the previous text.

Control Resonant is now available on PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X.
