Control Resonant Day-One Patch Adjusts Enemy Health and Player Strength

Remedy Entertainment has released a day-one patch for Control Resonant, addressing player feedback regarding enemy health and combat effectiveness. The hotfix, version 1.3.3, aims to streamline the early game experience by making enemies, including bosses, easier to defeat.

Launched on September 22 for early purchasers and widely available today, Control Resonant's initial reception included comments on the high health pools of enemies, which some found made the opening hours a "slog." In response, Remedy has opted to deploy a patch that reduces the base health and "Falter" (stun) requirements for most enemies, as well as for the Dancer and Deserter bosses.

Alongside the enemy adjustments, the patch also increases the maximum Aberrant Strength and Ability Strength for players. These increases are designed to follow a curve, offering progressively larger boosts towards the end of the game and rewarding players who invest in upgrades. Remedy stated in a blog post that these changes are intended to "improve the gameplay feel and flow while still providing a challenge."

For players seeking a more tailored experience, Remedy also reminded users that Control Resonant includes an assist mode. This feature allows players to further customize enemy health and player damage output, enabling them to make the game easier or significantly harder.

Additional tweaks in the hotfix include a permanent reduction in the cost to respec abilities and UI text updates to better clarify combat mechanics. While the general reaction to the patch has been positive, with many agreeing that enemy health was an issue, some players on Steam expressed frustration over the patch requiring a reinstallation of the pre-loaded game.
