Control Resonant Launch Day Hotfix Addresses Reviewer's Main Complaint

Control Resonant launched today, but a day-one hotfix from developer Remedy Entertainment has already adjusted the game's combat balance. The update specifically addresses concerns about enemy health pools feeling too high, a central point of criticism in our review that made combat feel like a slog.

Remedy stated in a Steam news post that they have been closely monitoring player feedback and decided to implement changes to improve the overall gameplay feel and flow. The hotfix (version 1.3.3) aims to reduce enemy health, decrease the number of hits required to 'Falter' enemies for executions, and increase protagonist Dylan Faden's early-game combat effectiveness. The developer acknowledged that Dylan's initial strength might have felt insufficient, even given his character's circumstances.

These adjustments effectively implement a solution that the reviewer suggested using the game's Assist Mode settings, which involved increasing Dylan's damage output and Falter buildup. Remedy has confirmed that the launch build will now reflect these improved combat dynamics.

For players who wish to further customize their experience, Remedy has ensured that a suite of granular Assist Mode options remain available. These allow for fine-tuning elements such as enemy aggression and ability recovery rates. Players can also adjust settings to make Dylan invulnerable or significantly alter combat difficulty to their preference.

Control Resonant is now available on Steam.
