Remedy Entertainment's upcoming title, Control Resonant, is the subject of IGN First's August coverage, and the publication has released exclusive gameplay from a mission called the Metro Fault.
This mission serves as an introduction to the game's new traversal skill, Reach, which functions similarly to a grappling hook. Players will guide Dylan Faden through a warped Manhattan, encountering paranatural threats and developing his abilities to combat them. The Metro Fault itself is described as a type of dungeon within the game's world, requiring players to navigate hazards such as oncoming trains and fungal enemies known as Mold.
The gameplay demonstration focuses on Faden's progress through this underground section of New York. Players will need to acquire the Reach skill by completing the challenges within these Faults. Control Resonant is the sequel to the 2019 game Control, and this new installment sees Faden undertaking a mission to cleanse the city of corruption.
IGN has stated that more content related to Control Resonant will be released throughout August.
