Remedy Entertainment has outlined its post-launch strategy for Control Resonant, revealing plans to introduce a Photo Mode and a New Game Plus Plus option for players. These additions are intended to extend the game's lifespan and provide new ways to engage with its world.
The New Game Plus Plus feature is slated for an October release. This will allow players to embark on subsequent playthroughs while retaining their existing progress, effectively enabling players to chain together endless runs. Remedy stated that this update will mean players can "start NG+ run after NG+ run, without needing to erase all your progress," adding, "Do 665 runs if you want!"
Following in November, an update will bring a Photo Mode to Control Resonant. The studio acknowledged player requests for this feature, citing the visually striking environments as a reason for its popularity. Remedy noted that Photo Mode was not ready for the game's initial launch as development prioritized ensuring the core game was in its best possible state.
In addition to these gameplay enhancements, Remedy is also working on new cosmetic items for the protagonist, Dylan. While a release window for these additional outfits has not been specified, the studio confirmed that more pieces will be arriving in future updates, catering to players who enjoy customizing Dylan's appearance.
Control Resonant is described as a more action-RPG-focused follow-up to the original Control. The game's current New Game Plus mode allows players to carry over most of Dylan Faden's upgrades, with the exception of traversal abilities to prevent sequence breaks.
