Control Resonant launches today with a day-one hotfix designed to address player feedback on combat encounters, specifically concerning enemy health and protagonist Dylan Faden's early-game strength. Developer Remedy Entertainment announced the changes in a blog post, noting that the update aims to provide a smoother experience for the wider player base, following critiques from early access players and reviewers.
Remedy stated that after reviewing feedback, they decided to deploy patch 1.3.3 to adjust several elements. The update will reduce the base health and the required Falter (stun) level for most enemies, including the Dancer and Deserter bosses. Concurrently, the maximum Aberrant Strength and Ability Strength for Dylan will be increased. These strength increases are designed to scale with game progression, offering more significant boosts as players acquire more upgrades.
Beyond combat adjustments, the patch also lowers the cost of respeccing the ability tree and increases the stock of the special resource required for these respecs at vendors. To improve clarity, UI text explaining Build Power and Aberrant Strength has been updated. Aberrant Strength will now be displayed as "Damage and Falter X%" instead of "Multiplier X%", and Build Power will be described as "From unlocked Combat Abilities, Aberrant forms/upgrades, Talents, and Core Upgrades," clarifying its composition beyond just equipped items.
Remedy has indicated that they will continue to address other known issues in Control Resonant as players engage with the game. Despite some combat challenges noted prior to release, Control Resonant has received positive reception, earning an 8.5 out of 10 in our review.
