Control Resonant Sells One Million Copies, Becoming Remedy's Fastest-Selling Game

Remedy Entertainment has announced that Control Resonant has achieved one million copies sold, marking it as the studio's fastest-selling game to date. This milestone was reached just three weeks after its digital launch in September. The studio shared its gratitude on Twitter/X, stating, "Thank you for the support. For playing, sharing, and being a part of the community."

Communications director Thomas Puha expressed optimism about the game's performance, calling it a "strong start." Control Resonant's sales figures surpass those of Alan Wake 2, which previously held the record for the studio's fastest-selling title, having reached one million copies sold two months after its release.

The sales success comes despite initial concerns over piracy following the game's digital launch. Many players, however, opted to purchase the title to support Remedy, a studio known for its critically acclaimed but not always commercially massive games. Fan comments on piracy forums indicated a desire to support Remedy's future, with some users stating they chose to buy the game rather than download a pirated version because they "love their games and gotta do what I can to keep them afloat."

Remedy, known for titles including the original Control, Alan Wake 2, Max Payne, and Quantum Break, has seen its latest release met with critical acclaim. IGN awarded Control Resonant an eight out of ten, praising its inventive world and humanized narrative elements, even as combat may eventually dull.

Physical editions of Control Resonant have recently been released, suggesting further sales potential for the studio. This commercial achievement appears to alleviate concerns about Remedy's financial stability, with the studio's recent performance indicating a healthy future.
