Pearly Abyss has released patch 1.14.00 for Crimson Desert, introducing a highly requested cross-save feature for players across various platforms. This update, rolled out on Thursday, July 16, enables users to continue their game progress on different systems, with the exception of macOS, which will receive the functionality at a later date.
To utilize the cross-save feature, players must navigate to the game's save menu and select the new cross-save option. This will provide instructions for linking a Pearl Abyss ID to their existing platform account, whether it be on Epic Games, PlayStation, Steam, or Xbox. New users can create a Pearl Abyss ID if they do not already have one. Once the accounts are successfully linked, players can return to the game and refresh the cross-save settings. A dedicated cross-save slot is available in the save menu, which must be manually saved.
While the cross-save feature offers significant convenience, there are certain limitations. Each Pearl Abyss ID can only be linked to one account per platform. Furthermore, only a single cross-save slot is provided per ID, and this data must be saved manually. Although platform accounts can be unlinked and re-linked, unlinking all associated platform accounts from a Pearl Abyss ID will result in the permanent deletion of any cloud-based cross-save data. Players wishing to retain their cross-save progress after unlinking all platforms should ensure it is saved to a local slot.
Beyond the cross-save functionality, patch 1.14.00 also includes several other improvements and fixes. The update addresses an issue where the quest "A Dwarf's Concern" was uncompletable, and resolves a bug preventing character control when a pet interacted with a bed. In combat and action, the "Skystep" ability has been adjusted to use the same control input as Oongka's "Vertical Flight," and a fix has been implemented for "Aerial Force Palm" being interrupted during free-fall. Localization errors across all languages have been rectified, and the quality of localization has been improved. Additional fixes include unnatural character motions on high-speed mounts, missing sound effects for battles and abilities like "Ator's Orb," and NPCs being unable to pass through open wooden gates.
Crimson Desert is currently available on Mac, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X.
