An update released today for the massive role-playing game Crimson Desert introduces cross-save functionality, allowing players to transfer their save data between different platforms. This feature enables users who own the game on multiple systems to continue their progress seamlessly.

To utilize cross-save, players must own Crimson Desert on at least two of the supported platforms: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, or PC via Steam or the Epic Games Store. The system requires players to possess a Pearl Abyss ID for each copy of the game they own and to link these accounts together. A new cross-save icon has been added to Crimson Desert's in-game save data menu, which will initiate the setup process as outlined in a frequently asked questions document.

The Mac version of Crimson Desert is currently not supported for cross-save, but developer Pearl Abyss has stated that this functionality will be added in a future update.

The implementation of cross-saves is part of a larger post-launch update strategy from Pearl Abyss, which also includes significant revisions to the game's narrative elements. Further details on upcoming updates can be found in additional developer communications.
