Pearl Abyss has announced Crimson Desert Enhanced, a substantial free update for the game that includes additional story content and is available to all existing players. The update, designated version 2.00.00, will effectively transform the current game into Crimson Desert Enhanced. This update introduces new cutscenes and story moments integrated into the main questline. Furthermore, players will now have access to voiceover support for the game's narrative in German, French, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, and Japanese.

This narrative expansion aligns with Pearl Abyss's previously outlined summer roadmap, which included improvements to the core story, a point of recurring criticism since the game's launch. Crimson Desert Enhanced will also incorporate all previous updates released for the game since its initial debut.

The Enhanced edition precedes the game's first paid downloadable content, slated for release later this year, and a planned Nintendo Switch 2 version expected in early 2027. Pearl Abyss also confirmed that research is underway for multiplayer modes and potential sequels, building on the game's reported success.

Crimson Desert originally launched on March 19 and achieved significant sales figures, surpassing 6 million copies sold within its first three months.
