Critical Role, the acclaimed storytelling collective known for its expansive Dungeons & Dragons campaigns and original game systems, has announced a new tabletop adventure titled Road to Nowhere. This upcoming release serves as a direct tie-in to the group's currently airing gothic-horror miniseries, Age of Umbra: Sallowlands.

The adventure was developed by Jack Panic, an independent tabletop role-playing game designer and graphic artist recognized for his work on RPG supplements and indie horror. Road to Nowhere is set to explore the grim and perilous Sallowlands, a region within the Halcyon Domain that has been corrupted by Umbra after the abandonment of the world by its gods.

Age of Umbra: Sallowlands depicts the Halcyon Domain as a desolate badlands environment. The miniseries' second episode featured the adventuring party briefly traveling through a desert area within the Sallowlands. While specific details about the focus of Road to Nowhere remain scarce, Wargamer has hinted that the adventure's atmosphere will blend elements reminiscent of "Mad Max" with "The Phantom Menace."

A key aspect of the adventure is the city of Nowhere, described as a convoy-city. This mobile settlement is composed of numerous mechanical vehicles, known as Deadrigs, linked together to form three massive structures that traverse the arid landscape of the Sallowlands.

Road to Nowhere will be available in print as a zine during Gen Con, running from July 30 to August 2. Attendees can purchase a physical copy for $5 at the Darrington Press booth. Following the convention, a free PDF version of the adventure will be released on Darrington Press's official website on August 12.
