Crusader Kings 3's Silk and Silver Expansion Arrives November 17th

Paradox has announced that Crusader Kings 3's upcoming expansion, Silk and Silver, will launch on November 17th. This DLC focuses on the game's merchant republics, offering a gameplay experience similar to the By God Alone expansion's focus on religious realms.

Silk and Silver will allow players to establish and grow trading companies, build their family's patrician status, and eventually rule as a Doge. The expansion introduces new mechanics for influencing a republic's specialization, such as naval trade or populist movements. Players will also have options to shape constitutional laws and engage in foreign policy by pursuing trade routes and forming trade leagues.

Despite the maritime focus, the expansion will not include naval warfare. Paradox stated that adding this feature would have required too much development time, potentially compromising the quality of other new systems and balancing efforts within the expansion.

The release date positions Silk and Silver in a relatively quiet period for new game launches in mid-November 2026, a timeframe many other studios are reportedly avoiding.
