Cyberpunk 2077 Players Discover The Witcher 3 Crossover Content in 2.5 Update

Cyberpunk 2077's recent 2.5 update, which introduced new gameplay features and customization options, has also brought a hidden collection of The Witcher 3-themed cosmetic items to the game. These additions were not detailed in the official patch notes.

Players can now find several pieces of gear reminiscent of Geralt of Rivia's adventures. Among the discovered items are the 'Boar Carver' knife, described as similar to the one Geralt uses for trophy collection in The Witcher 3; the 'Sihil Sword,' featuring ancient writing and spiky rivets; 'The Professor's Spectacles,' a mask from The Witcher 3's Hearts of Stone expansion; and a matching 'Ursine Jacket' and 'Ursine Pants' inspired by the Bear School gear.

These items become available to V after receiving a text from Arianne regarding a gift, a method previously used for other in-game drops. The discovery was highlighted by users on social media platforms, with one post specifically pointing out the inclusion of the Witcher 3-style knife.

The 2.5 update's official notes primarily focused on the Edgerunners crossover content, a new questline featuring Richard Night, and enhancements to character customization, including new 'Glamdocs' for cyberware.

This surprise addition comes as CD Projekt Red had previously ruled out further DLC for Cyberpunk 2077. The news also follows the recent second season of the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime and the announcement of a live-action movie adaptation. Development is ongoing for Cyberpunk 2 and The Witcher 4, alongside other titles from the studio.
