The Cyberpunk Trading Card Game is expanding with a new set titled "Burn Bright," which will feature characters from the Netflix anime series Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. The expansion is scheduled to launch at retailers next spring and will be available in English and French, with a Chinese version to follow at a later date. Developer WeirdCo has stated that the set will introduce new gameplay mechanics, with further details to be revealed in the coming months. Special foil and textured treatments, along with a new chase rarity, are also planned for the "Burn Bright" set.
"The community reception to Cyberpunk TCG has been nothing short of incredible so far, so we want to deliver something even more exciting with Set 2," said WeirdCo co-founder Elliot Cook. "Cyberpunk: Edgerunners provides us so many opportunities to evolve this game in meaningful ways, both mechanically and artistically, and we can’t wait to share that with players."
Pre-release tournaments will be held one week prior to the official launch, offering players an early opportunity to engage with the new cards. This release follows the successful Kickstarter campaign for the Cyberpunk TCG, which garnered over $28 million in funding. The game's first set, "Welcome to Night City," featuring characters from Cyberpunk 2077, is set to release on November 6.
As an exclusive reveal, Kotaku has unveiled the artwork for one of the "Burn Bright" cards, titled "Gloria Martinez: The Future's Price." The card prominently features Edgerunners protagonists David and Lucy, alongside David's mother, Gloria Martinez.
