The D23 Disney Experiences Showcase, held at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, has unveiled a slate of new attractions and updates for Disney Parks, Disney Cruise Line, and Disney+ content. The event, also known as "Horizons: A Carousel of Progress," provided a live look at forthcoming additions across the Disney portfolio.
Disneyland's Avengers Campus will debut "Avengers Infinity Defense" in 2028, featuring Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye, and Ms. Marvel. This attraction tasks guests with helping to reassemble the Avengers to confront King Thanos.
Further expanding the offerings at Disneyland's Disney California Adventure, a new Coco attraction is set to open. The storyline takes place one year after the original film, beginning in a "casa museo" dedicated to Miguel's great-great grandfather, Héctor Rivera. Guests will then join Miguel on a boat ride through his memories of the Land of the Dead. The attraction will have no height requirement.
Disneyland Paris' Disney Adventure World will host its first-ever Lion King attraction. This new experience will journey through the classic film's narrative, culminating in Simba's final confrontation with Scar. A 120-foot-high Pride Rock is part of the design, which includes a flume system with a 52-foot drop.
Updates were also announced for the Carousel of Progress attraction, with Disney Legend Jamie Lee Curtis and Emmy-winning actor Bryan Cranston joining the cast as the new Mom and Dad figures. New scenes set in the 1980s will also be incorporated.
At Disney's Animal Kingdom, the Yeti audio-animatronic in Expedition Everest will be brought back to life. Disney Experiences Chairman Thomas Mazloum confirmed that the team is working to restore the animatronic.
In other news, "The Imagineering Story," the documentary series on Disney+, will receive a second season in early 2028. The showcase also provided updates on Disney Cruise Line, including the new ship Disney Believe, though specific details were not immediately available.
