Nintendo has unveiled the first look at Dark Link in the upcoming remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for the Nintendo Switch 2. The reveal comes via two brief trailers that showcase several moments from the classic game.
Fans of the original Nintendo 64 title will recognize Dark Link as the formidable mini-boss found in the Water Temple. This shadowy doppelgänger of Link appears in a fog-filled room and famously mirrors the player's save file name. His health also dynamically scales to match Link's current number of Heart Containers, making him a uniquely challenging encounter. The new footage offers a fleeting glimpse of this battle, showing Dark Link merging with Link's sword.
Beyond Dark Link, the trailers also feature Ganondorf playing an organ, Link playing his Ocarina, and the pivotal cutscene where Link obtains the Master Sword. Some of these scenes may be considered spoilers for those unfamiliar with the original Ocarina of Time.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake is scheduled for release on November 5, 2026. IGN has previously published a hands-on preview detailing changes in the remake, including redesigned puzzles and updated miniboss fights.
