At the Triple-i Showcase event, Mintrocket revealed that its popular game Dave the Diver will receive a free DLC pack in early 2027 featuring a crossover with Subnautica 2. This collaboration unites the distinct underwater exploration experiences of both titles.
The DLC will introduce Subnautica 2's ocean moon, Proteus, into Dave the Diver. In the new content, Dave and his companion Bancho will venture to a new dimension to make discoveries, encountering Subnautica 2's iconic Leviathans and forging new alliances.
Mintrocket studio director Jaeho Hwang stated that the collaboration provided an opportunity to bring a "new wave" to the Dave the Diver experience, leveraging Subnautica's unique approach to underwater exploration. Anthony Gallegos, creative director for Subnautica 2, described the expansion as a "love letter to both Dave the Diver and the Subnautica universe," emphasizing the mutual admiration between the development teams.
The Subnautica 2 x Dave the Diver crossover DLC will be available to wishlist on Steam. Subnautica 2 itself has achieved significant success, selling over 5 million copies in under a month during its early access launch, leading publisher Krafton to designate the franchise as a key intellectual property.
