King Art Games has announced a delay for Dawn of War 4, pushing its release from September 17th to December 3rd. Players who purchased the Commander Edition will gain access slightly earlier, on November 30th. The development team cited the need to "further refine the experience ahead of launch" as the primary reason for the shift.
This additional development time will be dedicated to performance optimization, bug fixing, gameplay polish, and integrating feedback from recent community playtesting. A revised post-launch update roadmap has also been shared, outlining planned content for early 2027 and beyond. The game's first map pack and crusade mode are slated for early 2027. Later in the year, Lord Ahmnok's addition to Last Stand and Crusade, along with a second map pack, will arrive, preceded by the Blood Raven story prologue just before Spring. Following Spring, a third map pack and a mission editor are scheduled, culminating in a major story expansion titled Aftermath, which will introduce a new faction in summer 2027.
To bridge the gap until the new release date, King Art Games plans to share more battle reports and sneak peeks in the coming months. Both editions of Dawn of War 4 are currently available for pre-order with a ten percent discount.
The delay also moves Dawn of War 4 away from a crowded September release schedule, which included titles such as Marvel's Wolverine, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave, Blood of the Dawnwalker, and Silent Hill: Townfall.
