A new limited-edition collection, the DC Villains 6-Film Limited Edition Steelbook Collection, is now available for preorder. This bundle includes six DC superhero films presented in 4K UHD with individual steelbook cases. The collection is exclusively available on Amazon for $139.99, with a release date set for October 27.
The included films span five decades of DC cinema and feature prominent heroes like Superman, Batman, and Aquaman, alongside iconic villains such as the Joker, Catwoman, the Riddler, and Lex Luthor. The selection aims to include highly regarded entries in the DC filmography, deliberately omitting less critically successful titles like Batman & Robin and Catwoman.
The collection includes the following films:
- Superman: The Movie (1979)
- Batman (1989)
- Batman Returns (1992)
- Aquaman (2018)
- The Suicide Squad (2021)
- The Batman (2022)
Beyond the 4K UHD discs, a significant feature of this collection is its packaging. Each of the six movies comes in its own steelbook case adorned with its respective movie poster. When exposed to light and then viewed in darkness, these steelbooks reveal glow-in-the-dark graffiti designs. The individual steelbooks are housed within a larger library case, which also features glow-in-the-dark markings and provides protection for the discs. This release is part of a trend of physical media re-releases targeting the holiday season, with other notable collections including a Poké Ball bundle of all 24 Pokémon movies and a 40th-anniversary edition of Transformers: The Movie.
