Dead by Daylight is gearing up for its eleventh year with significant upcoming changes, including official mod support and a comprehensive visual overhaul. Behaviour Interactive revealed these details during a lengthy 10th-anniversary broadcast, outlining a roadmap that extends into 2027.

The introduction of modding support, slated for 2027, will allow for user-created maps and game modes. This comes alongside a visual refresh that aims to modernize the game's aging aesthetic, incorporating dynamic weather effects.

New additions to the killer roster were also detailed. The iconic Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th will be joining the game, a notable feat given the franchise's complex rights situation. This will be followed by the arrival of Terrifier's Art the Clown in November. An original DLC chapter, "The Life Road," is set to launch later this month, introducing a new killer, The Judgment, and survivor Aurora, as part of the "Chorus of Sin" update in August.

Fans can also anticipate a new map inspired by liminal spaces, expected before December. The broadcast also confirmed several cosmetic collaborations, including themed collections for the metalcore band Ice Nine Kills and a return of Iron Maiden cosmetics. Skins based on popular franchises like Silent Hill, The Walking Dead, Diablo 4, and even Scooby-Doo are also planned.

In addition to major content drops, Behaviour Interactive is committed to ongoing engagement through in-game events. The "Black Banquet" event is currently running, with more seasonal rifts and events promised throughout the year and into 2027. Furthermore, an in-universe collaboration with Supermassive Games' spin-off title, The Casting of Frank Stone, is scheduled for early 2027. The anniversary celebrations also touched upon the live-action Dead by Daylight movie adaptation, though further details were not provided.
