Dead by Daylight's annual Black Banquet event is now live, offering players the chance to earn free skins and other cosmetics through a series of new quests. The event, which began on June 25 and concludes on July 16, introduces unique mechanics centered around "morsels," "banquet tables," and "poisoning," alongside a new limited-time currency, Banquet Coins.

Black Banquet Quests and Rewards

The event features a variety of quests, with some being milestone quests that can be completed multiple times as progress increases. Others are completion quests that unlock rewards after a set number of other tasks are finished. These quests are the primary way to obtain free Black Banquet cosmetics for characters like Dwight Fairfield and The Trapper. Additionally, a community quest challenges all players to collectively complete 100,000,000 trials during the event period, with initial progress already exceeding half a million trials.

Completing a set of 12 Black Banquet quests, for instance, rewards players with specific Dwight and Trapper cosmetics, along with Rift Fragments. Milestone quests involving collecting and placing morsels, poisoning objects, or poisoning survivors each grant Bloodpoints, Banquet Coins, and Rift Fragments. Other quests reward players for completing trials, eating morsels, hitting survivors, or successfully evading chases.

New Event Mechanics: Morsels, Tables, and Poison

The Black Banquet event introduces several new gameplay elements. "Morsels" are food items that survivors can find and consume for buffs, such as instant healing or faster movement. They can also be placed on "banquet tables" for allies to discover. The "Toothy Torte Offering," available in the Bloodweb, allows players to start a trial with a morsel already in hand, facilitating these interactions. Killers are equipped with "poison charges" at the start of each round, which can be applied to various environmental objects, generators, or even thrown at survivors. Poisoning a survivor debuffs their sprint ability.

Morsels, poison, and banquet tables only spawn in Black Banquet-specific matchmaking. Once four generators are activated or only one survivor remains, these interactive elements will no longer spawn. At this late stage of a trial, interacting with a banquet table can grant either a Haste boost or Endurance/Blindness immunity.

Earning Banquet Coins and Cosmetic Items

Players earn Banquet Coins by completing quests, which can be exclusively used within the event. Any unspent Banquet Coins will be converted into Bloodpoints once the event concludes. To unlock all available free rewards, players need to collect 1,375 Banquet Coins. The initial set of quests provides 1,100 Banquet Coins, and with more quests to be added weekly, it is anticipated that not every quest will need to be completed to obtain all free items.

Beyond the free rewards, the in-game shop features four additional Black Banquet-themed cosmetic items for Claudette, The Doctor, The Legion, and Kate. Each of these items costs 1,080 Auric Cells.

Twitch Drops and Event Conclusion

In addition to in-game rewards, players can unlock a free Oni killer cosmetic set, including a new outfit, mask, and weapon, by watching partnered Dead by Daylight streams on Twitch during the event. To be eligible for these Twitch Drops, players must link their Behaviour and Twitch accounts.

The Black Banquet event concludes on July 16, providing players with a limited window to acquire all available free cosmetics and complete the event-specific quests.
