Death Stranding Isolations Animated Series Reveals New Teaser

A new teaser trailer has been released for Death Stranding Isolations, an original animated series set to premiere on Disney+ and Hulu in 2027. The trailer debuted during Kojima Productions’ 10th Anniversary Exhibition Beyond the Strand, following the series' initial announcement last year.

Developed by Japanese animation studio E&H Production, known for its work on Ninja Kamui and Magic Knight Rayearth, Death Stranding Isolations is directed by Takayuki Sano, with Death Stranding creator Hideo Kojima serving as executive producer. The series will explore an original narrative within the Death Stranding universe, taking place immediately after the events of the first game.

The synopsis provided with the teaser describes a world grappling with the "Death Stranding," a cataclysmic event caused by the dead returning to the living world. In the aftermath, many are forced into isolation, including a young girl who comes to embrace solitude. The story is set in North America after the protagonist, Sam, reconnects the continent via the Chiral Network. This reconnection, however, brings unforeseen consequences, leading to new conflicts and unforeseen paths for the characters.

The series is one of three planned adaptations of the Death Stranding franchise. An animated movie, tentatively titled Death Stranding: Mosquito, and a live-action film produced by A24 are also in development.
