An exceptionally observant Grand Theft Auto 6 fan has identified what appears to be the real-world inspiration for the apartment inhabited by protagonists Jason and Lucia, as depicted in Rockstar Games' recent extended gameplay reveal. The discovery is made more remarkable by the fact that the building in question was demolished in 2023.

The fan, known on Instagram as prettyboycuh, shared their findings approximately 24 hours after the gameplay trailer's release. Their investigation points to a specific building whose exterior closely matches the one shown in the trailer at the 6:20 mark. Key similarities include the distinctive off-pink color of the building, the layout of the parking lot, and, directly across the street, the Quantum on the Bay Condominium on Bayshore Drive in Miami, Florida, which bears a striking resemblance.

However, the fan's success in locating this spot required delving into historical data. As explained in their video, the apartment building no longer exists, necessitating the use of Google Maps' historical imagery. prettyboycuh had to access photos dating back to 2013 to find an image of the now-demolished structure. This approach was reportedly inspired by the notion that Rockstar Games began developing the game around 2013, a testament to the intricate dedication often exhibited by Grand Theft Auto fans.

While the initial visual comparison is strong, tracing Jason's departure route from the apartment within Google Maps reveals that Rockstar Games has indeed taken creative liberties with Miami's road layout. This is a common practice to condense the expansive environments necessary for a game world.

Despite these minor discrepancies, the fan's identification is considered accurate. It is somewhat unfortunate that this real-life location can no longer be visited by fans, though it presents an unusual opportunity for the owners of the vacant land where the building once stood.
