Destiny 2's active development has ceased, with Bungie releasing a final patch and a free emblem for all players as a parting gift. The emblem, named Gloriabundus, features the Destiny logo against a distant, luminous city skyline, a design that communications lead Dylan Gafner, known as dmg04, described as restrained and appropriate for the occasion.
This emblem can be redeemed by all players via Bungie.net using the code F6K-D44-JH4. While the game's story has reached its conclusion, Gafner assured the community that Destiny 2 will not be entirely abandoned. Bungie intends to address the highest priority issues, such as game crashes, and will continue with routine server maintenance. Small, opportunistic fixes may also be implemented.
Despite a recent resurgence in player numbers on Steam following the end-of-development announcement, hopes for Sony to reverse the decision appear unlikely. Bungie has reportedly faced challenges with Sony for the past few years, culminating in significant layoffs affecting a large portion of the Destiny team in June.
