Amidst recent mass layoffs at Bungie, a browser-based game has emerged allowing players to express their discontent by throwing tomatoes at a caricature of former CEO Pete Parsons. Titled "Pete Carsons: The Final Car," the game targets Parsons and virtual cars, referencing reports of his significant spending on classic automobiles following Bungie's acquisition by Sony for $3.6 billion in 2022.

Parsons, who departed Bungie in 2025, has become a symbol for some fans of the studio's perceived mismanagement post-acquisition. The game's mechanics involve players aiming tomatoes at Parsons, depicted with a "flappy head akin to a South Park Canadian" and bearing the title "Destroyer of Guardians," a nod to perceived degradation of Destiny 2. Cars in the game are labeled with terms like "Crunch Enforcer" and "Micromanager."

The game launched on July 7th, historically celebrated as "Bungie Day." This year, however, the occasion was overshadowed by significant workforce reductions. Nearly 300 employees were laid off last month, impacting "most" of the Destiny 2 team and some personnel involved with the studio's new extraction shooter, Marathon. Developers who remain at Bungie have been issuing hotfixes for Destiny 2 but have publicly stated that the diminished team size limits their ability to address all ongoing issues.
