Diablo 4 may be nearing a release on the Nintendo Switch 2, according to a new report. French outlet Dealabs Magazine, citing recent ratings board classifications, suggests the game could launch as soon as September 15 or 18. The publication also indicates a potential retail price of $69.99 in the U.S. and a physical "code in a box" release, which would include a download code rather than a game cartridge.
This report follows previous indications of a Switch port. Earlier this year, the Indonesia Game Rating System reportedly listed Diablo 4's Lord of Hatred expansion for Nintendo Switch. More recently, Taiwan's ratings board briefly published a Switch 2 classification for the base game before both listings were removed. These occurrences lend credibility to rumors that Blizzard Entertainment has been preparing a port for Nintendo's hardware.
While Blizzard and Xbox have not officially confirmed a Switch 2 version of Diablo 4, Dealabs claims to have independently verified the game's existence. The outlet was reportedly unable to confirm whether the Lord of Hatred expansion would be bundled with the release. Polygon has reached out to Blizzard Entertainment for comment.
If the report proves accurate, an official announcement could be imminent, potentially coinciding with Gamescom later this month. Xbox has confirmed a significant presence at Gamescom 2026, highlighting its 25th anniversary. The event will feature the first public live gameplay demonstration of Fable and more details on Alien Isolation 2.
A potential Switch 2 release would add a major third-party title to Nintendo's upcoming lineup. The system has demonstrated capability with graphically demanding games, though recent ports have also underscored its limitations. The performance of Diablo 4 on Nintendo's hardware remains to be seen pending an official reveal.
This would not be the first Diablo title on a Nintendo console. Blizzard released Diablo 3 on the original Nintendo Switch in 2018, followed by Diablo 2 Resurrected in 2021.
