Blizzard has officially delayed the launch of Diablo 4's Season 15, dubbed "Season of Hell's Legacy," due to a significant number of players experiencing login errors. The season, intended to be the main event for the game's 30th-anniversary celebrations, was scheduled to begin on September 15, but widespread technical issues prevented many from accessing the game.
Trouble began early in the day, with players reporting issues on Blizzard's forums and Reddit. Common error codes cited include 300008 and 300006. While some players were able to log in and begin the new season, the sheer volume of login failures prompted Blizzard to halt the rollout.
A community manager initially acknowledged the problem on the forums, stating, "We’re aware of an issue preventing some players from logging in. The team is investigating and working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible." Later that day, a more definitive update confirmed the season's delay.
"We’re continuing to address issues affecting today’s launch of Season of Hell's Legacy," the update read. "As a result, Season 15 is currently delayed. We appreciate your patience while we work to resolve the issues and we’ll share updates as we have them."
Season of Hell's Legacy was set to introduce new story quests featuring Deckard Cain, various endgame updates, balance adjustments, and quality-of-life improvements. A significant addition includes nine new "Legacy Uniques," powerful items inspired by legendary artifacts from Diablo's past, such as the Stone of Jordan. The season's narrative was designed to be a journey through Diablo's history, coinciding with the 30th anniversary of the original game's release in January 1997. The planned celebratory launch, however, has been put on hold as Blizzard works to stabilize the game's servers.
