Diablo 4 players are currently leveraging an exploit that allows them to equip multiple Mythic Unique items, significantly boosting their characters' power. This phenomenon, prominent in Season 15's "Hell's Legacy" update, has led to a widespread use of full Mythic gear sets, a scenario not previously seen in the game.
The exploit stems from changes made to the game's item system. In Season 14, Blizzard introduced a "crafted" item tag to Mythic Uniques created through in-game crafting methods like the Horadric Cube, Blacksmith, or Jeweler. This tag imposed a limit of one crafted Mythic Unique at a time. Following player feedback, Blizzard partially reversed these changes in Season 15. While Mythics created via the Blacksmith or Jeweler are no longer flagged as "crafted," those made using the Horadric Cube still carry the tag.
However, a method exists to circumvent the "crafted" tag on cubed items. By combining three identical Mythic Unique items using the "Recycle Uniques" recipe in the Horadric Cube, players can obtain a new version of that item. Crucially, this recycled Mythic Unique lacks the "crafted" tag, enabling players to equip multiple such items. This allows for the stacking of numerous Mythic Uniques, a development that could dramatically alter gameplay balance.
Despite the potential for game-breaking power, the exploit is not easily achievable. Creating a single Mythic Unique via this method requires 15 Resplendent Sparks, and equipping a full set of 12 items would demand an extraordinary 180 Sparks. This significant resource cost necessitates extensive grinding and farming, making it a challenge for the average player.
Nevertheless, some of Diablo 4's most dedicated players and content creators, such as Wudijo, have managed to implement this strategy. It remains unclear whether Blizzard will address this loophole in future updates. The most recent patch, 3.2.2, focused primarily on bug fixes and did not mention the Mythic Unique exploit.
Season 15 itself has been generally well-received, introducing Diablo to the game and allowing players to revisit past Prime Evil encounters alongside characters like Deckard Cain. Looking ahead, Diablo 4 is slated to receive a new class, the Amazon, in the first half of next year. Blizzard is also confirmed to be developing Diablo 5, with a projected release in 2029 and three playable classes already revealed.
