Diablo 4 Season 15 will introduce a new character "Rebirth" feature, allowing players to convert their existing Eternal Realm characters into seasonal ones. This marks a reversal of the usual process, where characters automatically transition to the Eternal Realm at the end of a season and are often deleted to make space for new seasonal characters.
With the Rebirth function, players can bring their established characters into the seasonal realm. While the character's level will reset to one, their total playtime, class, name, appearance, and cosmetic preferences—including pets, transmogs, mounts, portals, and headstones—will be preserved. All equipped gear and inventory items will be lost, though players will receive a warning before the conversion. They will have the option to transfer their gear to their Eternal Realm stash prior to proceeding. This feature is designed for players who prefer to stick with a particular class, wish to consolidate their character roster, or want a more streamlined way to track their overall engagement with the game.
Beyond the Rebirth feature, Season 15 will also bring back iconic items from previous Diablo titles, such as Diablo 2's Stone of Jordan and Diablo 3's Ring of Royal Grandeur. New Overland activities, including challenge dungeons and open-world ambushes, are planned, alongside a new type of socketable item called Soul Splinters, which offer significant benefits with potent drawbacks.
Diablo 4 is currently in the midst of Season 14, which introduced substantial changes to Mythic items but received a largely negative player response. Blizzard has indicated that further adjustments to Mythic items, including more deterministic crafting methods, are slated for Season 15.
More details about Diablo 4 Season 15 are expected to be revealed at BlizzCon on September 12-13. A public test realm for some of the new features and changes will be available from August 4-11, with Season 15 itself scheduled to commence in September following the convention.
