Blizzard has officially announced Diablo 5, the next mainline entry in its long-running action RPG series, during BlizzCon 2026. The game is slated for a Spring 2029 release, marking a six-year gap since Diablo 4's launch.

A teaser shown during the event confirmed the return of the Lord of Terror and set the narrative one century after the events of Diablo 4. Diablo 5 will be the first game in the series to take place entirely in a post-apocalyptic setting.

Additional Diablo-related news from BlizzCon 2026 included the announcement of The Amazon, a new class pack for Diablo 4 scheduled for release in 2027. A Diablo 4 Collection is also heading to the Nintendo Switch 2. Furthermore, Season 15 of Diablo 4, described as a playable retrospective of the franchise's history, is available now.
