Blizzard has offered a surprise tease for Diablo 5 during BlizzCon, with the game slated for a spring 2029 release. The game will feature the return of the titular demon, Diablo, and is set a full century after the events of Diablo 4. The initial glimpse depicted a post-apocalyptic Sanctuary, indicating a world in ruins.
While Diablo 5 remains several years away, Blizzard also detailed upcoming updates for Diablo 4. The first half of 2027 will see the addition of the Amazon class, a character known for fast movement and proficiency with bows and javelins. This class was recently featured in the Lord of Hatred expansion. The game’s next season, titled Hell’s Legacy, is set to commence on Tuesday, September 15. This season will be a celebration of the series’ history, bringing back familiar enemies and elements from previous Diablo titles, including characters like Deckard Cain and villains Mephisto and Diablo.
Additionally, Blizzard confirmed that Diablo: Age of Hatred, which includes Diablo 4 and its expansions, will be released on Nintendo Switch 2 on September 15, coinciding with the Season of Hell’s Legacy. A demo of this collection is available at BlizzCon.
